Launched on July 4, 2007, the Global Freedom Initiative is an umbrella project of the Cato Institute that coordinates the global work of three of the institute’s Centers: the Center for Promotion of Human Rights, the Center for Trade Policy Studies, and the Center for Global Liberty and Prosperity.
The Global Freedom Initiative thus combines original research into the conditions for freedom, the rule of law, prosperity, and peace with active promotion – in a wide array of languages and through many media -- of the values, the principles, and the policies of liberty.
